There are several options to access mental health services across Australia. At Brain Care we welcome most programs and institutions, besides self-referred individuals. We aim to make this process as easy as possible to accommodate everyone. Below you will find information on the best way to access our clinics according to your personal circumstances.

  • Self-referred

When accessing our services privately to see a counsellor or psychologist, there is no need for any referral. This freedom also means you are paying the fees on your own. Your next step is to simply call us to make an appointment.

  • Medicare

A GP referral and a Mental Health Care Plan entitle you to Medicare rebates for up to 10 sessions. You must let your GP know -prior to your appointment- that you require a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP), as this takes longer than an average consultation.

  • Health Insurance

If you have private health insurance, appointments may be covered partly or in full, depending on your policy. You will need to contact your provider to identify what rebates you are eligible for. Then you are ready to make your appointment.

  • NDIS

If you are an NDIS participant seeking to access services at Brain Care, you will need a current NDIS plan, and an NDIS number among other requirements. Our support team is ready to answer any of your questions.

  • EAPs

Employee Assisted Programs are a service offered by a wide range of work places. This means your consultations will be paid for by your employer, however your privacy and confidentiality are maintained.

  • Workcover

To access this service you will need to ensure you have your insurance claim number and case manager details. You also must select a practitioner registered with Workcover in QLD or NSW.
