Bookings - Medicare

A Mental Health Care Plan entitles you to Medicare Rebates for up to 10 sessions with practitioners who are registered as Medicare Providers. This enables a rebate off the scheduled fee. The rebate amount is dependent on your safety net and may vary. To find out the rebate amount, it is best to contact Medicare directly to address your case. As clinician consultation rates vary, so too will the remaining amount owing after the rebate. Please read below for more details.

Step 1 - Getting a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP

It is advisable to let your GP clinic know that you want a MHCP at time of booking appointment as it will likely take a double session to get this plan.

The GP referral letter is valid for 12 months, while the MHCP is valid for two years. Both of these items need to be current to receive a Medicare rebate, and you must bring both to your first appointment at Brain Care.

Step 2 - Gather Your Information

You will need to complete a Client Information Form. You may download it, fill it in, and attach it to your booking request now. You can also print it and bring it to your first appointment. Alternatively, you can fill it in during your first visit to the clinic. You can download the form here.
