Jane Stevens

PROVISIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST

Jane graduated in 2022, with an Advanced Graduate Diploma of Psychology, and is the newest addition to the Brain Care team. As a former Support Worker, Jane has a diverse range of life experiences to bring to her practice. Jane had a previous career in Environmental Science and Nature Conservation, and is passionate about our intrinsic connection with nature, and its essential role in our collective and individual health and wellbeing. Jane’s most recent and most valued role, was as a Support Worker, working directly within daily living, to support people with different abilities (disability) to live their best lives. Jane brings the principles of compassion, mind-body holism, safety and connectedness to her practice as a provisional psychologist. Jane currently practices under the principal supervision of Nerida Saunders, Founding Director of Brain Care.

Jane enjoys working with children and families, couples, people with disabilities, and all people throughout the developmental life span (all ages), seeking to overcome, grow and live a fulfilled life, after adverse life experiences. Jane specialises in Somatic Mindfulness Therapy. The principle of mind-body holism, to support a great range of psychological difficulties, and promote thriving in life, greatly informs Jane’s therapeutic approach. She is available at our clinic in Tweed Heads.

In her relaxation time, Jane can be found hanging-out with her two best friends, her partner and her deaf cattle-dog Cricket, walking on the beach or camping in peaceful natural environments.
