Utilising inclusive art materials like paints, clay, found objects or movement, allows and supports individuals to create connection and understanding. Jo’s embodied way believes in the power of art and creative processes to support well-being, regulation and mental health, assisting individual's cognition, sensorimotor functions, self-esteem and emotional resilience. Jo is passionate about the transformative power of Art Therapy as a less-known form of therapeutic support that provides new pathways towards insight and communication. Jo is a master’s qualified ANZACATA-registered Art Therapist practitioner based between the Gold Coast and Northern New South Wales. She completed her masters in 2023 with a focus on somatic experiencing and gently meets individuals and groups where they are. As a newly qualified Art Therapist Jo brings zest and curiosity to her person-centered sessions.
As an Art Therapist, Jo guides individuals through their exploration of themselves in a grounded, holistic, integrative process using art materials to express rather than words. With nineteen years of experience supporting youth and families in various capacities in the Kimberley, Western Australia and on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Jo offers authentic, nuanced sessions that encourage agency, awareness and empowerment.
In her quiet time, Jo spends time with her family and friends, enjoying the ocean or hiking through different landscapes.
