Amber Conn
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
Amber provides comprehensive occupational therapy services across a range of areas, including Functional Capacity Assessments, support letters, and assessments of Activities of Daily Living. She has expertise in cognitive and executive functioning, visuospatial processing, and physical domains such as gait, balance, and coordination. Amber also works with sensory processing challenges, restrictive practices and risk assessments, and offers driving evaluations and rehabilitation plans to support clients in achieving greater independence and participation in everyday life.
Her work focuses on improving everyday functioning and community reintegration, as well as identifying and implementing appropriate aids, equipment, and environmental modifications, including communication devices, wheelchairs, mobility aids, and bathroom adaptations. Amber helps clients address sensory processing needs through sensory profiles, mind-eye-body coordination activities, and flow-based approaches. She provides support for balance and falls prevention, as well as strategies to manage challenges related to apraxia, ataxia, proprioception, and visual processing. Amber also has expertise in driving rehabilitation, supporting individuals learning to drive with additional challenges and recommending vehicle modifications to enhance safety and independence. She works with a diverse range of clients, including individuals living with psychosocial and physical disabilities, Long COVID, concussion, brain injuries, stroke, and other neurological conditions. She also supports drivers with medical conditions and provides services through NDIS, WorkCover, TAC, and Aged Care programs.
Currently, Amber is completing her doctorate (May 2026) “The Neurological Symptoms of Post COVID & Impacts to Everyday Functioning”. She is also a Commissioner for The Lancet to develop worldwide Clinical Practice Guidelines for Neurological Rehabilitation, and a contributing author of Clinical Pathways for Stroke Rehabilitation (World Federation of Neurorehabilitation).
