Tackling Mental Health Head-On: qEEG Assessments

Bianca Dye recently visited Brain Care to have a qEEG (qualitative electroencephalogram). This type of assessment measures the brain’s activity, and helps clinicians recognise brain patterns associated with conditions such as ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Anxiety, and Depression. qEEG or Brain Mapping can also show patterns associated with Traumatic Brain Injury and Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). MCI is strongly correlated with the onset of Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease later in life. Traumatic Brain Injury, on the other hand, can result on disorders which are often diagnosed and treated as the root problem, instead of being understood as a symptom. Neurofeedback and Photobiomodulation, on the other hand, can help manage these symptoms.

Here is Bianca’s journey on understanding her anxiety, as published in her own words for the Autumn 2024 edition of Ocean Road Magazine.
